Obituary for Jane Ann Mendicino (Daley)

Jane Ann (Daley) Mendicino, 82 , passed away peacefully January 18, 2016. The wake was held January 20, 2016 at 3 Hiawatha Ave., Essex Jct., Vt.

Jane Ann is predeceased by her husband, Jerry L Mendicino, her parents John J and Louise Daley, and her siblings Mary Margaret (White), Jack, Tom, Louise (Murphy), Harriet (McGreevy), Pat and Liz (Jeffords).

Jane Ann is survived by her children: Jerome and Kate Reininger-Severin and their children, Devon, Siobhan and Marie, (with Donna Foster) Jeremy and Micaela; Francesco and Kelaine (Crookston) and their children Amanda, Amelia, Rebekah and Ethan; John and Cindy (Norris) and their children Aaron, Lindsay and Joseph; Patrick and Cheryl (Streeter) and their children Alan Jr. and Heather with Sumner and Caleb, Carol with Collin, Brandon, Alexis and Memphis; Christy and Scott Robert and their children Nicole, Christian, Scotty Jr., and Jeffrey; Ann Marie and Chris Wrynn and their children James and Matthew; by her two brothers, Michael and Dennis Daley, their wives and children; and her many Nieces and Nephews.

Jane Ann was born January 13, 1934, the sixth child of John J and Louise (Laird) Daley of Burlingon, VT. She attended Cathedral High School and Trinity College. She met the love of her life, Jerry Mendicino of Cleveland, OH, on North Beach and was married at St. John Vianney Church in So. Burlington, VT on February 19, 1955. They had five children who joined them on many a family outing. Jane Ann was a dedicated volunteer for the St Lawrence (Holy Family) Parish, serving as Director of Religious Education for many years. She also volunteered for such worthy causes as the Organization of Woman Voters, the American Cancer Society and the Girl Scouts of America. A dedicated Public Servant, Jane Ann was elected to four terms as State Representative for the Village of Essex Jct., serving as Chair of the Fish and Wildlife Comittee among others. After retirement she and Jerry toured the U.S., Italy, Ireland, Europe and the Carribean. An over 25 year member of the Blue Spruce Grange #637 of Essex Jct. she was an active member of her community and her absence has been felt by many.

A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St Lawrence Church, West St., Essex Jct., Vt on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 11:00 am with the Reverand Charles Ranges SSE officiating.

Daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and Legislator, Jane Ann left this world a better place to be with her beloved Jerry, Mother, Father and pre deceased siblings. We will always remember her smile, laughter, good will and good works. We love, miss and thank you, Jane Ann, just because you're you.
