Condolence: We are so sorry to hear about Franklin. He was the sweetest, most ridiculously funny person I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, and I can't imagine the magnitude of loss you must be feeling. We are honored and blessed to have known him. He was truly a blessing in our lives. We will never forget his kindness. May God give him eternal rest!

Condolence From: Helen Smith Johnke
Condolence: I,too, grew up with Franklin in the "Smith Clan". He was always ready to help anyone with car troubles. And his singing voice was the best I have ever heard. Lots of memories of choir practice, singing in the church choir every Sunday and other get-togethers that included Franklin. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Condolence: I was surprised and saddened to hear of Franks passing. I had not seen Frank for quite a spell and now I am regretting that. Frank and I grew up in East Saint Johnsbury where he and I worked on our cars together. He was the man who could solve most any auto problem and if not he would find the answer. He also had a wonderful voice and when he sang he touched your soul. From him I learned what loyal friendship was about as he was my friend even when I didn't deserve it having played pranks on him. Now that is the mark of a true gentleman. I send my best thoughts to his family and friends...may your Spiritual connections be strong at these times.

Condolence From: Herb Conly
Condolence: I grew up with Frank and sang in the choir with him. He had a great voice but his real talent was in building and repairing cars. I hadn't seen him in years until my wife and I started to camp at Moose River, next to his house. He will be missed. Our condolences to the Family.

Condolence: Frank was an amazing and brilliant guy. He was rebuilding car engines in junior high. His dad Don, was an auto mechanic at Walker-Brock Chrysler Plymouth dealer on Portland St in St. Johnsbury and worked with my dad. At the 50th class reunion, I must say I enjoyed talking to Frank immensely. I miss him. I remember him singing the Lord's Prayer at Jr Hi graduation w/ Kris Farrington on piano. Awesome! One morning I was walking to the Academy, and at the east end of Portland St Bridge, he offered me a ride. We immediately did 55 mph in 2nd gear going 'up" the bridge, and them decelerated to zero at Railroad St. Total time was probably 6 seconds! The car was comprised of a very large engine, and the body and the transmission (very strange gear shift pattern) were all different makes. The registration folks at VDT were stymied in what to call his car for registration! Luv ya, Frank, keep singing, man!

Condolence: We are so sorry to hear that Frank had passed. He was a dear friend of ours and our Campground campers which he helped built 52 years ago. Frank would come down regularly and sit on the deck, have coffee and any treats we made for our campers and friends, and enjoy talking to who ever was on the deck. We really enjoyed having Frank as our neighbor these past 21 years. When we had our weekend events, we would envite him to come down and enjoy the music. We are going to greatly miss having Frank visit on the deck. Our prayers and condolences to the family.
