Message to the Family: I only knew Jim during the last month of his life. But in that short time I witnessed the graciousness, kindness, and generosity of a great and wise soul. You would think that it must be difficult to stay calm, show concern for others, and maintain a wicked sense of humor while letting go of life. But he did it, right to the end. My life is richer for knowing Jim and I hope I don't forget what I learned from him.

Message to the Family: Jim has been a very dear friend, and his passing is a great loss. He had such a great sense of humor - watching television with him this past year, and the Jim Rice Ratings, is something I will never forget. Jim devoted his life to taking care of others. Even in his last couple of weeks, Jim's first thoughts were always for the people around him. Words can't describe how much I will miss this truly wonderful man.
