Condolence: Seeing this very late. However, sorry to hear about Mr. Tremblay's death. Not only was he my French teacher, but also a close colleague of my father's at EJHS. He was a special person who left his postive mark on many, many students. To be a teacher is a special calling. Thank you, Joe.

Condolence: Joe and I met when we were freshmen at St. Michael's University. I remember visiting his family in Highgate and their camp on Lake Champlain. We remained close friends from that time on and kept in touch by phone and occasional visits to Essex Junction. He was a dear friend and will be greatly missed.

Condolence: I'm saddened to learn of Mr. Tremblay's passing. I was his student for 2 years. I don't remember much of what I learned then. But I do remember enjoying his inspiring classes. Years later I ran into Mr. Tremblay in Essex and he greeted me with my class name, Elise. I was so impressed that he remembered considering all the students he'd taught over the years. My deepest condolences to Mr. Tremblay's family on your immense loss.

Condolence: Joe was my teacher when I was in high school and a colleague when I returned to teach in Essex Junction. He was always happy with a wonderful sense of humor. After many years, we reconnected on Facebook and I enjoyed posting updates to him when Barb and I visited France. I even dared to try a little French. I bet he laughed at my clumsy attempts, but he always responded with phrases that I had to look up. He was always fun to talk with. Joe was a great guy.

Condolence: Dear Madeleine, Joanne and David, Lisa, Don, and family, Sending much love and condolences as I remember "Monsieur Tremblay" with deep affection and many emotional memories. I remember him as a French professor with high standards and an appreciation for intellect and hard work. I remember him as someone who encouraged and loved my piano performance. I remember him as Jo's dad, David's father-in-law, and grandfather to Lauren, Ry, and Michael. And mostly I remember his hugs and laughter on those rare times when I got to Vermont and had an opportunity to see him. I think the last time was at Lisa's about 10 years ago. Love to you all, Brina

Condolence: My condolences to Donald and the rest of the Tremblay family. I have such fond memories of Mr. Tremblay from EJHS. He so clearly loved life and loved teaching. The foreign language department during his tenure was full of teachers (so many starting their careers under him!) who shared his excitement about teaching. He was one of the people who made high school a great place to be.
